New Bedford Community Health is Hiring a Dental Receptionist (Part-Time) Near New Bedford, MA

*Must Be Fluent in either Spanish or Portuguese*

Monday – Friday (24 Hours) - Flexible Work Schedule - Between Hours of 7:300am - 6:00pm.

As a Dental Receptionist of New Bedford Community Health's Dental Care Team, this individual will support and strive to provide high quality support to meet the challenging needs of our diverse patients who need more than just health care. The Dental Receptionist Greets and registers patients in a dental office setting and verifies and explains insurance.


We are Looking for someone who:

  • Shows excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Is Detailed-Orientated
  • Has the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both oral and written.


Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Understands, explains, and applies sliding fee schedule regulations, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Orients all self-pay patients and the underinsured patients regarding programs within the Health Center.
  • Registers patients upon arrival, ensuring that all demographic information is updated and accurate.
  • Verifies eligibility of insurance for all patients.
  • Confirms patient appointments.
  • Makes new charts for patients as required ensuring their completeness and accuracy.
  • Schedules patient visits courteously. Solves scheduling problems, issues and/or concerns utilizing the facility computer system as applicable.
  • Pulls charts for the week in advance.
  • Ensures that mail is processed on a daily basis.
  • Collects patient balance payments and co-payments utilizing the facility computer system as applicable.

What You Will Need:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in computer data entry required.
  • Experience in dealing with general public.
  • Ability to speak Portuguese or Cape Verdean Creole required.
